Monica T. Rodríguez

Monica T. Rodríguez was born and raised in the beautiful Española Valley.  She serves on the executive team of the Second Judicial District Court as the Deputy Court Executive Officer in the Children's Court Division.  Her role as DCEO is to develop and sustain programs that address the needs of the judiciary that provide resources and tools for families.  The programs she currently oversees include Juvenile Drug Court, a National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges Collaborative Learning Site, one of eleven in the country, the Youth and Family Counseling Division which offers free family and child counseling for those in the court's jurisdiction, and the Family Reunification Drug Court.  Ms. Rodríguez has dedicated her career to child wellbeing having also worked for Child Support Enforcement Division.  She hails from a long line of educators, including her parents, her grandfather and grandmother and her great-grandfather Filogonio Rodríguez, who was elected to the Española School Board.  This has contributed to her belief that education is a critical element to curing the ails of our community.  Ms. Rodríguez graduated cum laude from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelors of Science.  She is the proud mother of a son who currently attends UNM.
